Food, Art & New Friends: BeltLine Tours Are Back!

Updated: Jun 11, 2021

BiteLines food tours on Atlanta BeltLine

This past Saturday, we resumed BiteLines Food & Art Tours on the Atlanta BeltLine. We had a great group of people, and my boyfriend Shawn came along to help out with the first tour back.

We tasted Gu's authentic Chinese dumplings, made from a 150-year old recipe from China. And we sampled delicious guacamole and margaritas from Guac y Margys.

We gorged on Nina & Rafi's thick Detroit-style pizza with cheese baked onto the outside of the crust. We ate half sandwiches filled with amazing meats and sauces from DBA Sandwich Company. And we finished with delicious macarons and scones for dessert from Just Add Honey.

There was also a booth for Costa Coffee at Irwin Street, so tour participants got to sip some flavorful iced coffee. Shawn and I are hooked on this coffee, which originated in England by Italian immigrants, and is just being introduced in the U.S. It might be our new brand.

We walked the BeltLine, as it rained a little, stopping to look at street art and the latest installations of Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, while I shared some insight about the artists.

For instance, you have probably seen the Larry Loudmouf character by nationally renowned artist Greg Mike in different variations on walls around Atlanta. In this one below, Larry has a chipped tooth. Greg Mike says he used to have a habit of sleepwalking and in college, he apparently walked off his balcony and woke on the ground alone, in a pool of blood. Such a horrifying incident. This showed him how fragile life is, and after that, he painted Larry Loudmouf with a chipped tooth.

There are lots more artist stories like this, if you come on our tours. You can also learn more about some of the art through other articles in my blog.

I am very grateful to my family, friends and boyfriend who have supported me and spread the word about my tours. It means so much to me, thank you!

So if you are looking for things to do in Atlanta, this is a great way to experience the Atlanta BeltLine while sampling some of Atlanta's popular restaurants. We still have a few spaces open for tomorrow's tour. Hope to see you there!
