New Atlanta Pizza and Beer Crawl

Atlanta's pizza scene is exploding with New York, Neopolitan and other independent pizzerias

Yeah, I know what you're thinking: Does Atlanta even have good pizza? There was a time when I would have agreed with you. Growing up in metro Atlanta, our only pizza options were the big chains. Fellini's was a rare exception, but Atlanta just wasn’t known for its pies.

But in the past decade, Atlanta's pizza scene has exploded! Now, our city proper boasts more than 3 dozen independent pizzerias, serving everything from thick to thin crust, New York-style to Detroit-style, and even their own unique creations - some straight from the mother country. You’ll even find a plant-based pizzeria just a short walk from the Atlanta BeltLine.

Atlanta's Pizza Scene is on Fire

So how did we become a pizza town? If you know Atlanta, it makes sense. We are a city of transplants. Nearly 40% of our population has moved here from other places, some of them coming from cities with seriously good pizza - New York, Chicago, Boston, New Haven, Naples... When they missed their pizza from home, they opened their own restaurants here. Lucky us.

And the result? A pizza scene in Atlanta that’s now gaining national attention. Move over, New York and Chicago. OK, maybe we're not there yet, but we're on our way.

Personally, I love pizza so much that if I get a choice, it will be my last meal. I have eaten pizza all over this big planet - even in countries not traditionally known for it. I had pies with Emmental cheese in the south of France (wouldn't recommend it), hit up pizzerias in Panama and found my all-time favorite in Miami - a star-shaped pizza made by Italian immigrants. Not to mention, I performed my own taste test of nearly every single pizza shop I could find when I lived in Boston and Rhode Island.

Pizza and Beer Crawl Launches this Month

That’s why I’m so excited to announce our new Pizza and Beer Crawl! This crawl is designed for people like me who can’t get enough of great pizza, whether you’re a local or a foodie traveler.

Taste authentic Neopolitan on a Pizza and Beer Crawl, and learn the stories behind the pizza makers

On this 2.5-hour exploration, we’ll stop at 3 of Atlanta’s best neighborhood pizzerias, each offering their own unique style of pizza. You’ll sink your teeth into the bursting flavors of an authentic Neapolitan straight from a wood-fired oven, indulge in the cheesy, crispy layers of Detroit-style, and enjoy the perfect fold of a classic New York slice. To make it even better, we’ve paired these pies with two refreshing beers to complement the flavors.

But this crawl is more than just pizza and beer—it’s about the stories behind each slice. You’ll learn about the passionate pizza-makers who’ve brought their hometown flavors to the South and what makes each style of pizza so special. Whether you’re new to the city or a long-time resident, or just passing through, this tour is a great way to experience Atlanta’s pizza scene from a fresh perspective.

Special Launch Price

The Pizza and Beer Crawl will be held every other Sunday through the end of the year. And you can save $10 during our launch with code: NEWPIZZACRAWL. But hurry, this offer is only good for dates through November.
